Jeremy W. ParkerJeremy Parker serves as the Artistic Director and Program Coordinator of The Tulsa Winds. He is also the Artistic Director for The Tulsa Starlight Concerts and conductor of the Starlight Wind Ensemble, Oklahoma’s only professional wind ensemble, which has been delighting Tulsa audiences since 1947.
Since 2012, Jeremy has been the Director of Band Programs for Bixby Public Schools, and in 2022, he assumed the role of Coordinator of Fine Arts. In this capacity, he oversees all aspects of Bixby’s Fine Arts Programs, conducts the Bixby Wind Ensemble, and leads the award-winning Pride of Bixby Marching Band. A strong advocate for the advancement of wind ensemble repertoire, Jeremy has contributed to the field through various commissioning projects, collaborating with composers to bring new and diverse works to life. In addition to his conducting roles, he is an active guest conductor and lecturer, frequently presenting on topics related to program growth, curriculum development, and best practices in instrumental music education. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Education in Leadership (M.E.) from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. |
Matthew Schepers

Matthew Schepers is a member of the artistic conducting staff for The Tulsa Winds. He also serves as the Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands at The University of Tulsa. In this role, he conducts the TU Wind Ensemble and leads The Sound of the Golden Hurricane Marching Band as well as the TU Basketball Bands. Additionally, Matthew teaches instrumental conducting and marching band methods.
Before joining the University of Tulsa, Matthew spent 14 years teaching in Oklahoma’s public schools, where his ensembles consistently earned superior ratings and advanced to finals in competitive events. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E) and Masters in Music Performance (M.M.) from Oklahoma State University.

Brandon Collins

Brandon M. Collins is a member of the artistic conducting staff for The Tulsa Winds and serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Bixby Public Schools. In this role, he conducts the Bixby High School Symphonic Winds, leads the visual caption for the Pride of Bixby Marching Band, and assists with the brass caption. he also co-teaches the 7th Grade Band and instructs Beginning Brass at both Central and West Elementary Schools. He also serves as the Applied Music Instructor, guiding students in developing skills essential for success in the professional world of instrumental arts.
Additionally, Mr. Collins coordinates the Bixby Fine Arts Guest Lecture Series, which provides students with enriching experiences through annual engagements with more than two dozen distinguished guests, including conductors, professional soloists, chamber ensembles, university professors, and arts industry professionals. He holds his Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) and Masters of Music (M.M.) from the University of Oklahoma.

Matthew Balmer

Matthew Balmer is a member of the artistic conducting staff for The Tulsa Winds. Matthew has worked as a freelance trumpet player, playing in several bands around Michigan and Oklahoma. He is also a sought after private educator maintaining and active trumpet studio in Missouri. Matthew is committed to providing quality musical opportunities for both students and adults alike. His professional affiliations include Oklahoma Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E) from the University of Oklahoma and His Master’s in Music (M.M.) from Eastern Michigan University.
David Lawrence

David Lawrence is the Emcee for the Tulsa Winds and current host of Wind & Rhythm, a nationally syndicated radio show featuring music of the worlds wind ensembles and concert bands. David’s full time gig, though, is teaching music, biology, leadership, and STEM at Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma. He also directs the Blaskapelle, or wind band, of the German-American Society of Tulsa which plays at a variety of venues in Tulsa and the surrounding area, including Tulsa’s famous Oktoberfest. His main instrument is the euphonium, and David can be seen playing in the brass section of the Tulsa Winds.
